Default 330 magnum help.... Electrical need help

Hello my names chris and im looking for any input on my 03 Polaris magnum 330 4x4. I bought a Haynes manual and has been helpful but im stumped.. I have burnt out 2 cdi boxes.. So I checked voltage at battery and my voltage is 14.0-14.5v at idle when revved it will go as high as 18.00v.. so I figured it was voltage regulator rectifier (ecu- and apparently the voltage r/r/ is made into it, correct me if wrong), due to much voltage being put out. well replaced with ANOTHER cdi box and voltage stays up but no SMOKING yet... my main question is whats the highest voltage output on this bike. and is there a separate voltage regulator rectifier from ecu?? help me please

any input on the maximum voltage output or if the rectifier is incorporated into the ecu.....

Did you replace the ecm? You said you replaced the cdi? The maximum voltage should be between 14.5-14.8. Any more and you can fry batteries along with other problems the ecm is noted for.Item #29.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

Default YAAYYY..i was waiting for your reply sir...

and yes sir I did replaced that and cdi box same time.. then put volt meter on battery posts.. @ idle 14.0-14.5..... when revving it will exceed to 18.00 but not past... is the regulator rectifier encluded in the ecm.. I believed so because of the design of the ecm with the fins..

also replaced battery, starter solenoid.. only thing I have not is coil, and rev limiter..when I googled it looked that the regulator rectifier is included in the rpm limiter.. but traced wires and they didn't go to stator.. so that's why I figured it had to be with ecm/ecu...

The regulator/rectifier,fan control circuit, plus several circuit breakers are enclosed in the ecm. Possible to have a brand new bad one as I replaced several on the same machines especially during the recalls in 2005. If you don't have a service manual here's a pdf for your model that can show you areas to check.Index of /ORV Manuals/Polaris/Magnum

I have a hayes service manual but it only shows for 03 magnum 325.. Which mine is a 03 330 magnum and stuff is similar but not the same... So that is the only thing that regulates the voltage.. There couldnt be no other option then for high voltage??? Sorry for all caps, but my job has to use it...

The 325 (2000 to 2002) didn't have the ecm,but a regulator/rectifier. Only the 330 had the ecm so you need this manual and it's not a Haynes, but a factory Polaris service manual.Remote possibility could be stator problem, but the schematic would give you resistance checks to go by to eliminate it.
