I have a pair of Gaerne SG1's, is it okay to clean the mud off of them with soap and water?

Once they dry I was going to dress them with some Tannery leather conditioner.

My Gaernes have held up to a weekly washing with soap and water for over a year.

Thanks Quadfather.

Do you do anything else special to them? They cost almost as much as my damn quad, I just want to take care of them so they;ll be around for a while.

The only other thing I do is set the up on a shelf to dry. When my dog was a puppy, he chewed the webbing from the latch strap out of the left boot, now it isn't as waterproof as the right one.
