Well i have almost definatly decided to get a scrambler. just wondering though how well do the optional racks hold up I definatley will need them but i heard someone here say theirs broke off. So how much weight can u safley put on them(don't want to lean against it and have it break on me). Also how well do the extended mud gaurds work.

Entended mud guards work nice. You will still get sprayed by the front tires a bit though. I removed mine for a sportier look. The rear rack is very sturdy. The front is a bit weaker and looks rather strange.

Before removing mine I could put my huge tackle box on front and the rest on the rear. The rear rack is great for when you need to push or pull the quad out of deep mud.

On my 01 sc500 I have both racks and fender ext. Most of the rideing I do is woods and mud. Both racks will hold up to what ever you can get on them (not much on the front). Use it more for protection and pushing and pulling.

I had the large rack on my Scram when I bought it. It took about 3 months to bend and then finally break it. It is not that sturdy. In all fairness I DID load that rack up with an ammo box/gas can and 2 coolers. I then bought the Polaris Gas Can Rack and have not had a problem since. I never had a problem with the front rack but took it off anyways. The Scram just looks too good to put a hat on it! lol I have a Polaris tank bag and also bought a Polaris bag that fits on the back of my seat. I can carry everything I need and still have room.

I am interested in mud extenders but am unwilling to pay $200 for the Polaris ones. Unfortunately, the aftermarket extenders look terrible.

On a side note. I went to my local Polaris shop the other day to look at getting a new sticker kit for my Scram. Know how much they wanted? $200 frickin' dollars!!! How insulting is that? I can't think of any sticker kit that would be worth $200 (although a Pamela Anderson nudie sticker kit is intriguing hehe) Then again maybe not.

Regards,

MrMan

Now i'm pissed, last week the mud gaurds were on the polaris web site now there not their not there. Did they just stop making them? What are some aftermarket companys that make the mud gaurds or maybe the rack's for a little less money. By the way MrMan the decal kit is only$99 bucks online.

MrMan...Too bad you don't live closer...I would sell you mine. I no longer use them. Just sitting on the shelf in the garage.

Yeah! You gotta watch them pot lickers sometimes. We have a dealer in Michigan that likes to charge WAY over list. I don't know what kind of margin they have on list, but to charge WAY over seems rediculouse. Although they do have to make a profit somewhere, and it's likely NOT selling new machines as that is very competative.

Doh!! You are correct psychorider. They are $99. Still pretty durn high, but it did cut my sense of outrage in half. Now, I am just mildly insulted.

Xplor, wish I was a bit closer to the Great White North eh.... it would be beauty. <----I learned to talk like this from watching "Strange Brew" repeatedly when I was younger. lol I loved that movie.
