06 Scrambler magnetic coil replacement.

If the face of the sleeve is ground down or rough then yes it could interfere with awd engagement. The coil provides the magnetic pull between the face of the coil sleeve and the inner strut pole casting face.This is the thin part the coil slips over. If the sleeve is damaged it needs to be replaced. If the inner pole is ground down,then the strut will need to be replaced. These two points are what the armature plate rides on. They must be in good shape and flush with each other or no more out than .001. Look at the two wear rings on the back of the armature plate and you can see where it rides.
