I am thinking about buying a 98 scrambler 4x4 for
$4100.00 It is a 500 H.O.
Is this a good price.
What should I look for?
Thanks for any input.

I just purchased a 2000 W/clutch kit + helmet for $4300(great deal I think),but it took me a long time to find one.Im begining to think I stole it.Scam/500's are hard to find in my area.Does it have any aftermaket items? Price seems a little steep for a stock machine, but w/rims and new tires(stock are junk),it may not be that far off +/-.
As for what to look for,I cant help you too much, but I would check a-arms for damage,Cv boots, oil color(just to get an idea of how it was maintained),and brakes for starters.Wish I could help you more,(new to polaris)good luck.

Also make sure the swingarm is tight (no wobble).
I think about the first thing to wear out will be the chian/sprockets, brakes, and the lower steering bushing. If all those are still original, and in decent shape, it couldn't have been run too hard too far.
