Should not be to hard since the 500 Fuji motor has not changed since 1996.

If Polaris can take off the recoil it should not be hard to bolt one back on.

Even the flywheel retained the 4 (Now useless) obtruder's that the recoil engages onto to spin the crank.
Are you sure you want to, many expensive parts get ruined when dirty water goes down the rope hole.

Replaced the blank cover on several 500s for customers willing to pay the 200 bucks for a recoil assy at the time. Blank covers make a great catch all for bolts and nuts or one huge ash tray...Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

OPT, does that also hold true for the 455cc? I can run one from a 500HO?

Same thing on your 2012 model 400 and even the 2013 model 500. You can use the recoil off of a 2008 or earlier 500 to replace the blank cover as the flywheel still has the vanes for the recoil ratchet to catch. http://www.cyclepartswarehouse.com/f...012&fveh=51400

Oh ya, i'll silicone it until i need it one day. I take mine fishing 30 miles from anyone, park for 4 or 5 hours then hope the heck it starts to get me back to camp which is another 60 miles from home (by truck), and 30 miles from cell service. LOL. I do always go with at least one more vehicle and person, but its a huge pc of mind.

Its comes in Handy. On a camping trip I left the key on one night and killed the battery.
One pull and a 10 min ride and I was back in business.

Thanks. Has anyone ever had an issue with getting water inside the recoil? Under normal riding conditions?
