I have a 1992 Trail Boss 350L bought it with a broken front right axle shaft
ordered a complete axle shaft off of ebay and it is very different the are behind the bearing that slides into the seal is a totally different size
did they make 2 different styles of axle's ?
my old stub of axle the seal area is much larger and sturdier than the replacement axle
am trying now to find the correct axle but the ones I see at the parts house's look just like the one I got off ebay

First years of the 350 (90-93) were a nightmare for some people and mechanics on cv and complete drive shaft replacements as two different cv joints were used. BTB and Neapco. Look on your oem cv joint at the section above the seal sleeve and will have the designation as to which one it is.On parts breakdown shows "stamp location" Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse
The new numbers are 1380052 for one,1380040 for the other and even the Polaris Parts site doesn't designate which is which any more! Browse Stands to reason if you have one of these part numbers delivered and it's wrong, you need the other one instead. Screwy times for parts guys and mechanics alike..Best to talk to an "established" dealer on this if you have problems on getting the right one. Plus this pdf manual may help a little. http://gh-ftp.com/ORV%20Manuals/Pola...e%20Manual.pdf To complicate matters, the 90 and 91 models had different part numbers than your 92 model. Too early in the morning for this..
