Default what year is this

I have a 96 explorer 400 that the engine has been changed and i need a carb adapter for. The engine #s EC-38PL-01 379cc 94-23051 I know its older than 96 because the 96 adpater won't work If its a 95 scrambler it takes #3085038 all other 400s take 3084143

94-2031 is the key. First two digits of the engine serial # is the year model. 1994.

Seems you're not the only one looking for this adapter. Used on the 350 and 400 models. Almost all online places don't have it (NLA) but best if you can talk to a good dealer that might be able to find some NOS parts or can check around. Pure Polaris Parts Catalog still lists it,but doesn't mean it available. Plus if you can track down some older 350 engines, you might have some luck.
Models that it fits.

Well I found one after searching salvage yards a couple hours. Arts sniwmobile & atv in WI The last one he had. It has a couple of small cracks so he let me have it for $50. Oz motor sports wants $195 for a used one so I am happy. Thanks for your help that link isn't good i emailed them and they don't have any

Then I'd guard it with your life! You might try some butyl rubber sealant over the intake boot to seal the cracks. Who knows, this stuff may keep if from further deterioration.
