I went to Valley ATVS open house today and got to ride a scrambler 400,damn that things got some punch.
I was wondering if anyone has rode both the 400 and the 500 and if so which is faster ??
The 500 got bigger displacement but is a 4 stroke, as the 400 is a 2 stroke so do they even out ????
And has anyone seen the black scrambler yet ?? other than in pics ??
Valley said that they should have one any day now..sure looks kick a$$

I know everyone says the 400vs500 is a dead heat stock for stock, but I like the feel of the 400 alot more over the 500. Lighter or not the 400 feels much lighter on the front wheels. The dealership where I bought my quads had a black Scrambler. It looked pretty sharp but I wouldn't give the extra $$$$$.

I raced a 2000 500 4x4 last summer on my 97 400 4x4. I weigh about 220 and he weighs about 140. He got the jump on me by 1-2 lengths. We pretty much stayed at that spacing until he seemed to top out. Then I started gaining slowly, but we got to the end of our race. Since then I've added and RCR Stage 1 Kit. 2-stroke "mod-ability" Gotta love it!
