Default 2004 700 vs 2007 700 engine?

What are the the differences between the 2004 short blocks and 2007 or 2009 ones? I found an EFI 07 or 09 (owner unsure of year) with 50 hours for a reasonable price and was wondering if I could use it in my 04 Sportsman 700 EFI. He say's that he isn't sure if its from a ranger or sportsman.
Thanks!

Using your 2004 electronics, stator, throttle body should work.Cases, cylinders and the heads were basically the same.

Mine is EH0680LE021. His is EH0680LE046 If that helps with anything.
I'm going to go for it if it'll work.

Perhaps you knowledgeable folks could tell from a photo if it'll work too. Want to make sure before I spend some money.

Last year model on the 700 atv was 2008,used in the Sportsman 700 X2. On your 2004 model, the 07,and the 08,plus the last year 2009 Ranger 700 shows still using the same part# on the head, radiator and same cooling system, except for the Ranger and it's long hose run and different radiator.Think it's safe to say all were interchangeable.

Arrived today. Think I got a pretty good deal. Hopefully everything else works on the bike.
