I am not after fast or loud but would like feedback on a QUIET pipe that will fit my four stroke 325 mag. I really don't want to be heard coming a mile or more away. Any ideas? I guess my next complaint will be tire noise.

Hey there, I have a Scrambler 500 and just bought a fmf MEGAMAX II pipe for it. It was $180 and it is very nice. I decided to change the number of discs the pipe had last night to see if I could get more power and this is what I found out. I had all 9 or 10 discs installed with the quite core and it was a little louder than stock but when I took all of the discs out and left the quietcore in place, I heard the engine noise over the pipe. It was unreal, I could barely hear it even when I reved it in neutral. You would be impressed be the quietness of the pipe. It ran like crap because it needed rejetted but if you want quite this is the way to go. You might have to rejet the carb though. With all of the discs in it does not need rejetted. I got it from dennis kirk and they might have one for the mag. Since I was playing with it, I left the quiet core out and all of the discs out (comp. mode only) and cranked it up. woops!! I felt the thumping in my chest at idle. It sounded awesome but too loud. This was extremely loud and very powerful, I had to take a very quick ride. I would never keep it like this cause it WAS LOUD and THUMPING the ground hard. I don't mind it alittle loud so I put all of the discs back in but left the quiet core out. <IMG SRC="http://forums.atvconnection.com/ubb/redface.gif"> This can be one of the quietest pipes/mufflers you don't hear.
Later,

Steve

Are you looking for an aftermarket pipe that has more power but is quiet, or an aftermarket pipe that is just plain quieter than stock?
