This is my first Uni filter(had a K&N on my 250X).

Do you guys saturate the entire filter with the filter oil, or just the inner core or outer cover?

Thanks,

Rainman

Put some on, and then squeeze it in. Keep adding untill it starts to squeeze out. The squeeze it out (don't wring)and leave it out of the bike for a couple of hours to dry and drain.

I only oil the outercover. Seems to work very well.

Here's what I do to a dirty filter. I pur about a quart of 100% mineral spirits into a stainless steel parts bowl. Put in the Uni, and swish it around, ring it out a couple times, then change the spirits and do it again. Then, I put some dishwashing soap on the filter, and run it under water while wringing it out. I then set it in fron of a small fan for about an hour. I then drop it into a big ziplock baggie, and spray PJ1 foam filter oil on it. Don't skimp, but don't drown the thing. I zip the baggy closed, and wring it around inside, until it's covered very well. Then, I set it in front of the fan with the fan on low for a bit. Your hands are clean, and the filter is ready to go. I bought three filters, one in the bike, and two ready to go. This comes in handy for those weekend rides in very dusty conditions, where you don't have access to a sink in the middle of nowhere.

Hope this helps.
