Awd switch on the right handle bar still has to be used as it still switches power to awd. You're just bypassing the speedo part of it when you jump the brown/white wire in the harness connector to another brown or frame ground. Some would just leave the speedo unplugged if it still didn't work,but at least the awd button would light up and they'd have awd. Eventually I'd just get a new speedo if you not able to repair the old one. At least while you can still get them before they become NLA.

Thanks for the info, Took the brn/wh wire out of the 6 plug and grounded it, AWD works now.
