Tire question?

I know people put wider tires all the time on stock wheels on 4x4 trucks. The tires mounted on my truck right now for example are roughly an inch wider than the stock size tire and they work fine. I just got a great deal for a set of new rear tires for my 2wd Honda Rancher, got off a guy off craigslist, some cheng shin 44J. They're a tire thats slightly more aggressive than stock but they're a 25 12 10, while the stock tires are only 11 inches wide but being one inch wider(if they actually measure out to even that much) shouldnt be a problem. I had to drive a bit to get them but got 2 new tires for $80, same tires go online for almost that much for ONE tire once you include shipping. I used a few dollars in gas driving to get them but still the round trip and a stop at mcdonalds and it was still under $100 for 2 new tires because they were just tires and i was able to easily fit them in the trunk of the car. Taking my truck would have added about $15-$20 to the price of gas for the trip.

Thank you. Have decided to go with Traxion Grippers - 26 9 12 & 26 11 12. They are a 6 ply, and not too heavy. They are the identical weight to the stock size radial reptiles on my friends 500 HO. Power loss was minimal.
