Default 1993 Polaris Big Boss 350L 6X6

I bought a 1993 big boss 6x6. Looks like the guy ran it without a battery and blew all the bulbs. I put a good battery in it and I cant get power to the new lights I installed unless I bypass the voltage regulator. My schematic drawing shows 4 wires from the regulator. Red, Y/R, Y. and blue. The red plugs in beside the wire from the key switch so I assume the key sends power to the regulator and over to the blue wire that goes out of the regulator to the light switch. If I bypass reg and power in from the red wire I get lights without key switch on but no power coming from blue wire. Is it possible that regulator is shot and could I use another 4 wire regulator from another year and if so which color wire would go to lights? I ve seen some 1994's and up with 3 wires and some 4 wire but none with a blue. If I can figure out how to post a picture I can load the drawing on here.

Getting hard to get some parts for older atvs. You take a chance on a generic 4 wire and have to guess on a couple wiring connections,(blue wire would normally go to a brown or black)but it still may damage the resistors in regulator right off.The correct #4060102 for your model is not cheap. Here's one place you can look at.DB Electrical - ATV-UTV Plus here's the only correct ones on ebay I've seen. 4060102 Polaris | eBay

Thanks for the reply and I did see the regulator on ebay but befor buying a regulator I want to know if anyone can verify if that is why I have no headlight power coming out of the blue wire

May or may not be the problem on the headlight power, but if the regulator has taken a dump, then best to replace it anyway. Then if problems are still present you have one less thing to eliminate.About all you can do on electrical problems, process of elimination in many cases.
