Default 2008 outlaw525

I just bought a used outlaw525s and I was wondering what I could do to it to get the best performance out of it. What jetting to use. I live in central pa. Exhaust, what would be best. Air box mods. Any help would be appreciated

Plenty of forums on the Outlaw out there as to what people have done. Plus here's one site that would be happy to take your money on performance goodies.Aaen Performance : Polaris Predator

Due to the center mount exhaust, the irs versions benefit greatly from an intake if I remember correctly. The 525 is a beast even stock in the KTM. There is a KTM specific place somewhere around here that can probably put you in the right direction.

Thanks, the only real issue I'm having with it right now is that it bogs down when I stab the throttle, I'm gonna try a JD jet kit and put a big gun evo on it. Hopefully that will help for now, next winter I'll probably do more , but for now I wanna ride

Does that have the FCR carb? Stock those will stumble if you really jab the throttle. You can put a Boyes on quick shot 2 or something similar on. That helps a lot.

The quick shot was gonna be my next move, got the JD jet kit in the mail yesterday, it came with 172-185 jets which I think may be a little to large because the stock jet I took out was a 138, so I ordered some moe 160-170. Hopefully All works out

I was also wondering has anyone tried the R&D power bowl ? What kind of results ? It was just something else I was considering. I'm also gonna check the valve adjustment. Bought it used from a dealer and I'm sure they didn't check. I know the accelerator pump diaphragm is good I replaced that , the old one was cracked.

That's why KTM always cost more, they were hopped from the factory.

In My motocross days we bought Japanese and upgraded tires, shocks and pipes but the guy with the KTM just went from the showroom floor to the track.

Even OPTs link is for motor mods for the 500 Predator not the KTM powered one.

Includes a few Outlaw mods in this Predator section. Plus don't know how many quad guys have installed one of these, but we installed quite a few for Ktm motocross/enduro riders. Little bit on the expensive side, but guys swore by them, especially those getting up in age or those that had endurance or physical problems.http://www.motosport.com/rekluse-zstart-pro-clutch-kit

I did a little tinkering with the quad today adjusted the valves and gave the carb a good cleaning, put the JD kit in red needle 3rd notch, 172 main, and o-ring mod. It runs better, lost most of it's hesitation, but still a little there. I'm getting closer to what I'd like
