Hi, I took the cams out of my 03 predator today as it has a knock. I noticed that the decompression cam has a lot of play in it. Is this normal? Cheers

 

Does wear if you don't keep the valves shimmed fairly regularly. A lot of people drive em until they wont start because the valves are too tight. Had a bunch of them drug into the shop for this. The knocking you have may or may not be cam related. Could be anything from the cam chain,piston slap,lower rod bearing,etc.
