how to paint scrambler plastics ?

Default how to paint scrambler plastics ?

hey im wanting to paint my scrambler not sure on how to go about doing this properly ...i used spray paint on my old yamaha moto 4 and it looked like crap and lasted about a week before the paint started coming off... can anyone give me a proper step by step on how to do so ? the paint on the scrambler is red and faded really bad and the plastic see through lining over the paint is ripping off also can i use some black plasti dip ? or should i go with something else ? also want to paint my rims they came yellow looking to just keep them yellow but redo them cuz the paint is also chipping just want to bring the life back to the color of the quad lol .. looking old and ratty

No surface paint is going to last.I've seen some pretty auto paint finished atvs come into the shop only to later see them all cracked up. Krylon Fusion is the cheapest route but It won't last on flexible plastic either. You can look on youtube and they show dipping and even some have used spray on bed liner.Don't know how long they would even last.

I'm just happy if the plastic isnt all busted up. I've got a couple tears in my front fender on my Grizzly and 3 zip ties to make sure it doesn't rip all the way through. A quad that gets ridden will never have pretty plastic. Its the least of my worries. Making sure your quad is mechanically sound is much more important. You can always get a bunch of decals and slap them on your scrambler to cover up the plastic and nobody will know its faded. Its also a way to make it unique as well.

flex seal colors are flexable. proper preperation and an adhesion promoter like Dupont 222s should work.
