Default 3' Highlifter Lift, Shocks, Rims and tires...Ohh MY!

Hi everyone,

can anyone provide advice on wheel and tire sizes for the following?

2011 Sportsman 850 XP EPS

I made the mistake of running nice wheels when i usually ride trails and go mudding and its time to replace them. The confusing part is sizing when you add a 3 inch highlifter lift, springs and Elka or Fox shocks.

The lift says you can run up to 29 inch tires but i am not sure how that translates.

I am looking for very basic wheels... like the ITP delta's but from what i read you cant run 12 inch wheels on a 850. I want as much meat under the bike as possible.

Any info is appreciated.... or even a web site with a configurator.

Have to run 14" rims on the XP's because of the brakes. Yours will probably clear 30" tires with a 3" lift. Really like the dual beadlock rims and they weren't that pricey when I got them for my Scrambler 1000. Have held up great and can run zero/low pressure with no worries of beads coming loose.

Thank you - I went with the Catvos 3 inch and rhino axles along with a EPi clutch kit.

As for the wheels.... and this may sound stupid... how do you find something that holds up well? I bought ITP SS212 wheels and after a few mudholes they look like trash... a complete waste of money unless you stay dry and clean. Structurally they are sound but they look like complete ****.

Too bad itp dont make 14" delta steels, that would be ideal.

I wondered that about those ss wheels, will be getting silver delta steels this spring.

yea the SS wheels are for folks that are not going to get dirty.... if you plan to play then don't mess with them.

As for the beadlocks i couldn't swing duals but got MSA LOK 14 single beadlocks with 28 inch zillas. From what i gathered the larger the tire the more fixing you do so 28 it was.

This will more than likely be a full rebuild besides the engine... If i can get the diff's out somewhat easily i am going to clean them and undercoat those as well.

Here is the current situation...lol

Keep your eyes on craigslist in your area. Can always find deals on either steel or aluminum stock rims (try local dealers too-ours around here are always selling them cheap). Might want to try ebay too.
