2007 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI Battery Question
My manual calls for a 30 AH battery for the EFI model but all the Yuasa batteries I have searched are too large for the battery box. The batteries for the HO model are the right size but the AH is like 12. I went and found the battery that came with that quad new and it is a Yuasa YTX20HL-BS. Did a search for that battery and found nothing to match so am confused.
I want a Yuasa battery as I've have had very bad luck with the local dealer batteries and they do not have Yuasa. What is the proper battery for a 2007 Polaris 500 Deluxe EFI. Use the winch a lot so want the best. Box Dimensions: 5.5" x 3.5" x 6.75" or there abouts.
Thanks in advance for your response.

Misprint in the manual evidently. 30 amp batteries were for the 700/800 Sportsmans and Rangers. Does call for a YTX20 on Polaris Parts and Cycle Parts Warehouse. Shows an equivalent battery here for the part number. Polaris 4011496 ATV Quad Replacement Battery Sealed AGM Maintenance-Free oem fit

Thanks for that new link. I do want a Yuasa battery The stock one lasted nearly 8 years. I bought a WPS for another quad and it lasted just over a year and a half. That link shows the exact same battery that came in that quad, except the stock battery, with the same part number, but did not say High performance
Just for your info I checked both repair manuals I have here one being the Polaris Service Manual for the proper battery and they both call out a 30 AH battery for the EFI. Back at the dealer the other day his computer shows one that is like a 12 AH so we looked in the shop service manual and it also showed a 30 AH battery. Must be a mistake from the original Polaris data and they have corrected it in the computer data.
Again thanks for your help

You'd be surprised at the "cover over" pages and addendum sheets we got from Polaris when they did discover mistakes in shop manuals. The oem battery made by Yuasa probably had the name "Polaris" on it also, not enough room to have High Performance on it like the replacement. I also agree Yuasa along with Interstate are a couple of the longest lasting batteries out there without going over board on some of the other higher dollar replacements.
