Default Wider Then Stock Wheels and Tires In Front

Has anyone ran larger then stock wheels and tires on the front of a 2007 Sportsman 500 or similar with or without spacers? Don't want tracks but do want flotation in deep snow. Would like to run 26-12-12 or similar all around. Any sand tires and wheels especially made with this bolt pattern for this quad or has anyone came up with a combo that works good? What was the steering like?

Thanks for your response.

You can run wider up front but may have to flip the tierod end for clearance(spacers will take care of that as well). You will notice harder steering but giving it some gas while turning will make it easier.

Thanks for the tierod tip. Will fool with it this spring. Everything is pretty much ice now. Need to blow through 20-30 inches of snow sometimes to break the trail. To steep to plow going up but once up can plow coming down. Downside of living off the grid.

I have an 06 800 and I had 26 10 12 on front and rubbed on tie rod end, I added on each lug a flat washer than 2 of the thickest lock washers then another flat washer and had enough threads for safety. I also ran at 7psi. I doubt u will get the 12s not to rub without a proper spacer.

Did you go up in wheel width or just put a larger tire on the stock front rim. I might see what I need to do to use the rear wheel and tire size in front just when there is powder snow and switch back when it gets icy.

Had to use a 10 width tire up front, I wanted 9" on all 4 but the tires are only 10 and 12 wide.
