I have a small exhaust leak where my exhaust pipe bolts to the head{loose bolts} but there is one of those damn springs in the way and i cant get a wrench on one of them. I could probley get it off with a screw driver but there is no way Id ever get it back on. Its hard enough to get to as it is and now the spring is in the way too.
Is there a good method or a tool to get the buggers off and on easily?

thanks
Andy

I uses a big pair of vise-grips. Keeps the spring from flying off and easy to pull/push.

this is a trade secret!!! using vise grips are great and work most of the time, but here it is!! get a piece of cord, and medium sized rope and tie it to sticks at both ends. first put the far end of the spring into the hole, then hook the string to the other end of the spring and pull back on the cord and pop the hook of the spring in place!!! always works

Take an inexpensive small shank diameter screwdriver, heat it with a torch and bend it into a hook at the end. A new tool for your collection for less than 2 bucks...
