Check again that you have 12 volts on either side of the fan circuit breaker and the fan power wire has 12 volts. The sensor provides the ground path.
Try 12 volts directly at the fan motor again and see if it runs ok. They can go out at any time. Plus if you didn't remove it when you cleaned the radiator, could be part of it also. If this checks out, check the resistance on the sensor when cold and when hot. Resistance should drop. Possible that you could have a faulty one.

Think I've heard this asked before and from what I've heard it didn't work out on the different flywheel. Think it had to do with one flywheel using an internal exciter coil, the other flywheel used an external pick up coil on the stator. Maybe wrong, maybe right on this. Look at this listing. Depending on what year you have might work. Explains what the 6 magnet FF95 will work on.http://picclick.ca/Polaris-300-400-F...183046807.html Click on the "see more" section at the end..

Thanks for the reply, so basically I would need to run the stator designed to that flywheel? As mentioned before I'm building a new engine and wanted as many new parts as possible and Polaris still makes the 6 magnet ff95 so I may just get the stator to make it work as I need a new stator anyways for the engine I'm building. It's for a 1996 Polaris xplorer 300 4x4

If you need a stator go for the 6 magnet if the ebay list includes your 300.

After hours of running and refilling I topped it off and put the cap on and rode around and it kicked finally. Fan cycled on went off and cycled on again. I'm gonna top it off tomorrow.

I've been frustrated on bleeding some of these machines over the years until they changed the return line on the 2004 models. The return line from the engine went straight back to the radiator instead of kinking around to the remote filler neck bottom like yours and earlier models. The other way didn't make any sense at all and caused problems in bleeding all the air pockets. Still had some problems on later models, but nothing like the early ones. Glad it's done. If the fan happens to bite the dust remember Spal.Spal Electric Fans - The Fan Man https://webstore.spalusa.com/en-us/p...rcycleatv.aspx

Glass mat batteries can be installed just about any place you like with no problems.
