Figured it out. The nagative post on the winch was touching the frame. Put a few wraps of electrical tape around the frame and all works fine. Going to have to shave the frame down or over time it will wear threw the tape. Anyone have another option?

Did you buy an atv specific winch? Absolutely no way you should touch a frame. The wiring end of the winch should be on the right side of the atv.

See on the right side. The negative post is rubbing against the front. Would be the same I other side.

.

Ok, how much room is between the negative stud and frame? Could you wrap a piece of rubber around the frame so the post wont rub? Like a piece of floor mat?

It's right on it. I don't want to grind any more of it,already took half the post and 25% of the nut. Don't really want to compromise the frame by taking a piece out of it but maybe only option.

Did you get the correct winch? Typically both negative and positive are on the same end, 180 degrees apart.

Something is not right with the winch. Do NOT grind your frame.

Maybe it would work better if the winch was right side up.

The winch mount bracket has mounting holes on top. So has to go in upside down

Looks like a Kfi winch mount that's upside down or for the wrong machine.

Jumbo Frank and OPT nailed it. The winch goes in upside down, with the winch mount bolts towards the top.
