Default 2004 600 shutting down??

I have a buddy with an issue that once the machine gets to operating temp it dies. When its cold and just started it is fine. Once it gets warm while riding it dies. Once the machine cools, it starts and runs fine again. It does NOT have the Ducati ignition and it is a carb model so there isn't a "limp" mode that I'm aware of. Checked the rubber carb boot and that's OK too.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Did you pull the clamp off the intake manifold? That's where they usually crack under the clamp where it's not easily seen. Also make sure the tank vent and carb atmospheric vent is clear and open.If the manifold is ok then ignition could be braking down.Pull a plug cap, stick in a plug, ground against the engine and check for spark when this happens. If it looses spark best thing on this when it does is to check the ignition specs from the manual. 2004 Polaris Sportsman 600 Service Manual PDF Download
