2006 Sportsman 800 exhaust rusted out

2006 Sportsman 800 exhaust rusted out
Has anyone had the exhaust crossover pipe between the mufflers rusted through? I noticed a hole in mine and thinking of welding a patch on it. Has anyone tried this fix with any luck? A new muffler with the pipe is over $300.

It would have been nice to have had a double walled pipe,but these are thin metal. I've seen them welded, Jb weld,exhaust pipe wraped,etc. You also might consider looking on ebay for one in not so bad of shape. Cheaper than going new.
