So my speedo is dead dead... so naturally no awd.... if the speedo is totally shot can the little bypass repair still work? Where you ground the brown/white wire to get the switch to engage it or no?

 

Just jump the brown/white wire to the common ground wire(brown) in the speedo harness itself. No necessary normally to ground to the frame or another brown. This bypasses the speedo entirely. If you're the adventurous type there are a couple post on people tearing into speedos and repairing them. i unhooked it off the plug stuck an eyelet on it and attached it to my handle bar clamps seems to have worked.

 

As long as it works for you...
