Polaris Issues Sportsman 570 Recall
#11
Maybe the fuel system was routed differently on the longer models, or some other differences?
My experience is large recalls like this are usually a design or process problem. Employee errors are usually minor in comparison. For example, a new employee doesn't torque a set of fasteners to spec. Once the error is discovered, machines still in the factory are reworked, and those that have shipped, the dealer can rework it, for a fee of course.
I feel bad for Polaris. They are generally a solid company in my view.

Sorta the same thing that happened to Honda on their water craft. They waited years behind everyone else, studied their competitors mistakes and finally came out with one of their own.Figured it would have been a great pwc,but the techs started bitching working on them and many engines had to be pulled and repaired/replaced. I know an old Honda tech that didn't even want to talk about their problems.. Happens to the best of em..
