Ok all thinking of moving the radiator up top on my sportsman 500. I am gonna buy new rad hose so I can hopefully bleed the system easier. Didn't know if anyone has did this yet.

Just hoping I can get it to bleed easier than the last time I had to bleed it.

 

These are the hardest to bleed Polaris models other than the Rangers with their long hose runs. Main reason is the the engine coolant return line goes back to the remote coolant filler neck instead of directly back to the radiator. Plus you have to make sure the radiator is clean front and back. Helps to jack up the machine,squeeze the hoses to help remove trapped air pockets and let the fan cycle on and off several times. This problem wasn't solved until the later 2004 or 2005 models when the return line ran straight back to the radiator. I know what a pain it is to bleed these models and the time it takes sometimes to do it right.

 

I know it's a pain to bleed, you helped me a few months back. Was thinking of getting a radio with a cap on it rather than the filler that's on it.

 

Ok on my machine which coolant line is the in and out of the radiator. When I relocator the rad I'm gonna put the in port on the top so the coolant flows down through.

 

Facing the front of the machine: Left line goes to the water pump,right side is the return line that that runs to the top of the filler neck.

 

Aren't they on the same side top and bottom
