Default '15 570 voltage drop issue

Stock machine, added the Polaris branded winch and plow.

When using the winch to raise or lower the plow the electric power steering stops working.

Put it on trickle charger for a day or so, battery was completely charged, still did it.

Need a new battery, stator not producing enough? Thoughts?

First thing I'd check even with the new battery is that the regulator is charging 14-14.5 volts back to the battery at an idle.If not this could be the cause. If it's not charging enough current draw from the battery may be too much for both the winch and the electric steering to work correctly.

I'll throw a volt meter on it, hopefully later today.

Looking on youtube this seems to be a problem with this machine , a friend of mine with a older 500 had same problem { not enough battery power } when plowing , I set him up with Anderson plugs and wires so he could plug in a second battery when plowing , I had a surplus industrial gel cell battery that he put on the back rack - works great .

What do you mean by Anderson plugs and wires?

I could put a second battery in the hard case on the rear rack just for plowing.

They are quick connect plugs hooked to the machine battery , makes it real easy to unplug the aux. battery when not needed , get the #10 wire size .
