Default 800EFI ECM on a 700 engine?

I'm picking up a 2010 Sportsman 800 with a blown motor. At least temporarily, I have a 2007 700EFI engine I am going to run in it (I have it, it runs well, so it'll do the trick.) I note that the PN's for the ECM's are the same. My question is, are different fuel tables, etc programmed into a 700 ecm than an 800 ecm? If not, then I could just bolt in and go.

Thanks

Yes this ecu is used on quite a few machines. Possible you may plug and play, but doubt it as the ones we swapped from machine to machine checking out problems had to reflashed to the different atv.. You may have to do as this member did.https://atvconnection.com/forums/pol...ml#post3349372

Whole machines as the ecu has to receive input from the sensors on the 700 engine with the key on.As the program goes through the sequence,Digital Wrench will instruct to start the engine and finalize settings. At least that's what we had to do.Again you might get lucky with just plugging it in.

Thanks again OPT. I'll give it a shot. I'm in no hurry, next big ride is in May.

Must be lucky, had to solder a different plug onto the magneto, and it fired right up (only ran it for a second because no coolant). Tomorrow will tell how it does.
