Default Which oil for 2002 Sportsman 500 ho?

Hello, friends, I was just wondering what the best oil for a 2002 Sportsman 500 HO (4x4) is?

I noticed the Polaris oil is 5w-50, but I see a lot of people recommending oils that are 0w40 full synthetic. I noticed that recommendation was for different years of the Sportsman 500 and I was wondering if it would be good for a 2002.

I checked the Owners manual I could pull up from the Polaris site and it didn't give the oil weight to use.

Any help would be appreciated and Thank you!

Basically ANY good synthetic oil in the 0w40,5w40,5w50 range is ok to use since you don't have a wet clutch. Same thing for the oil filter, plenty of substitutes.

Full synthetic like OPT said. Most people seem to use 0W-40 but if you're riding in extreme heat or cold you might want to use something else. These 2 links may help to give you an idea.
