Default scrambler 400 trans problems

ok so my 4x4 scrambler trans cover was cracked so i had it welded and put it back on and it worked but it was warped a little from the heat so my gears made a really high pitched whinning sound going done the road. So i bought another cover and went to put it on today which was a little sung on the bearings and took some doing to get it on and sealed, but now when i put it in gear it doesnt turn at all.... if i put it in neutral the input shafts spins just fine but as soon as i put it in forward or reverse it locks up completely. Any ideas or suggestions??????

You have to dremel/ream out the hole in the case for the shift fork shaft to align(not bind up) and shift correctly if you have mismatched cases. Been bitten on this before myself..
