Default Outlaw 450 valve adjusting

as I search more and all forums available for valve adjusting there seems to be a lot of variation in "how to"... some ppl use pistons tops, some by "feel"... I'm most likely due for an adjusting, but am looking for a proven technique for top dead center. Any vids or links?

Look at the font of the engine. There is an allen head bolt and a thick copper washer. Remove them and turn the flywheel, watch for the intake rocker arm to go down and start to come back up. As it nears tdc you will see a hole in the crank shaft.Align the crank case hole and the crank shaft hole and screw in the allen head bolt without the washer. This locks the crank shaft at tdc. Adjust the valves at .005 intake and exhaust. REMOVE the crank holding bolt after valve adjustment and slip on the washer and screw it back into the engine case.#19 and 20 in the parts break down.Polaris ATV Parts 2010 A10GJ45AA OUTLAW 450 S ENGINE, CRANKCASE Diagram Here's a video that might help on this also.
