Default Predator problem

Hello I'm new to this site I bought my grandson a 2006 polaris predator 90 it had been sitting for 2 years so I bought a new carb ,spark plug, and all new fuel lines but when I start the quad it runs with the choke on when I turn it off it wants to die so I turn it back on and it seams to have lack of power after running a bit can anyone help me. I bought the quad for 300$ from a friend which it ran good before it got parked.

Clean that new Chinese replacement carb and see if it runs better.Having to use choke usually means jets or openings stopped up,needle and seat sticking, etc. Most people just slap one on and have problems. Once they take them apart some have found dirt and trash blocking jets plus jets may not be the same size as the oem carb it replaced. If that doesn't solve the problem take a compression reading.Should at least have 115-120 psi to run decent.Leaking crank seals is another thing that could be causing problems that people over look. This cheap manual goes into good detail and can help you with troubleshooting these youth machines. Oulaw,Predator,Sportsman all the same, body plastic was the only difference.2006 Polaris Outlaw 90 Service Manual PDF Download

You can try to use spray some Liquid Wrench,PB Blaster, etc into the cable and work it back and forth. There are cable lubers out there but if the cable is really stiff, night as well replace it as it's a split cable and operates the oil pump also.https://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-POLARIS...lZy97Z&vxp=mtr IF that still doesn't help the running condition, runs good with choke on,but not off,I'd still open the carb bowl and make sure all the jets are clean and you can see daylight through them. Same on the small opening in the carb bowl.Blow it out to make sure it's clear. New carbs may still have junk in them from the factory. Make sure the small air screw is between 1 3/8 to 1 1/2 turns out from a lightly seated position. This you can fine tune when the engine is warm. Idle adjuster is simply turn in or out until you have a steady idle.
