2004 Predator 500 does not start

2004 Predator 500 does not start
Hi Everyone,
I just bought a 2004 Predator 500 and noticed it has a hard time turning on. It turns on eventually but it sounds like it slips gears or something. I opened the left side of the engine to take a look. I noticed that everything looks good. The teeth on the gears are all good but the biggest gear seems to lack connection to turn the engine. When I remove the two small gears, the biggest one, some times spins freely when i spin it and other times it gets stuck and turns the engine. I'm not sure what else to check or if thats normal. Some help is needed.
