Are you sure it's a VM34?

Unless the manuals are lying to me.. The VM32 is used on the 250/300 carbs. Different size VM34 carbs out there with different o/s dimensions and most don't give dimensions on the add. Used VM34SS carbs for the 350/400 are going for a premium. A new one even for the last 400(2003 Trail Blazer) is nla also. Here's some used ones and one $190 nos stock carb.https://www.ebay.com/sch/3131404%20Polaris?rmvSB=true Plus a used 125 buck carb on amazon.
Amazon Amazon
Same carb on the 350/400 engines, just different jetting.

So the manifold side fits its just the air intake side. so if I can find an hose adapter from 2.75 to 2.5 in will that work ok?

I meant the one he bought. I should have clarified that.

Yes you can do that but make sure the jetting is the same as as your Mikuni carb. PLUS some of these aftermarket carbs have different numbers or NO numbers at all I've read along with some won't even take the Mikuni jets because the jet threads are different to begin with. That's why I'm leery on these Chinese carbs along with others posting they've found dirt, metal filings in the carb bowls. Yes they're cheap if they work ok,cheaper to just install a good carb kit in the better quality oem Mikuni carb if they don't.

I thought it was based on the description on ebay. But I think what I have found out is that there is another seller with the same part number but a smaller air intake side that does match what I had. I have contacted them to confirm that is the correct size and also sent the seller of the one I have to ask about size discrepancy as well. so maybe the same model with difference air intake throat sizes ? Not sure.

If you have calipers(or borrow some) measure id and od (either inches or mm) on the intake side of the oem Mikuni then you have something to go by when you talk to these sellers on ebay. All these years and I've never really measured one. Mainly because these after market carbs weren't around until a few years ago and people started having problems with them versus rebuilding what they had.

gotcha, I appreciate the help - still learning. Do you know of any reasonable seat upholstery folks in the Dallas area towards say Garland, Plano, Wylie area? I let you know what I find out and how I end up going to see if this will work. Again thank you for your help.

In fact I do.. Mr. C Upholstery in Garland. My son had his pontoon cushions refoamed and recovered a couple years back and still look great. I even had three sofa cushions refoamed that were getting saggy and soft. Heavy duty foam and we were able to get a few more years use out of them. Reasonable prices. Just give em a call or like me just bring in what you need to have done and they'll give you an honest price.MR C Auto Upholstery ? Garland, TX
