That is one good looking bike! Love the yellow!

I see that you have the jack stands staggered a bit. I was looking at that layout as well. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks. I got it in pretty neglected shape, but for dirt cheap, so any time/money I put into it, was well worth it.
I think you and I are a lot alike. I also feel the need to pull everything apart, and then clean, paint, service, or upgrade.
With anything I own, I feel that if you spend the time to keep it nice and maintained, that it should give you years of enjoyment.

If you go for a ride without the drain plug in the clutch cover don't let any water get in there. If your belt gets wet you aren't going anywhere until it dries off. On my old quads without a drain plug I think they said if water gets in to put it in neutral and rev it up until the belt's dry. Once the plug is in you should be able to go in water a lot deeper than axle deep like my owner's manuals always said. If the cover gasket has a good seal that is.

Sweet build thread! Love what you did! I will most likely go that route, customizing it....but for now, I just want to get her up and running with good fluids and with brake pads. All comes in tomorrow, so hopefully it will be back up and running for the weekend. Since this is our family's first ATV, its hard to let her sit and recondition her...we all wanna take it for a spin.

How did you score the killer deal on the tires? I am going to need a full set soon. My immediate plans for the bike are:
  1. Finish replacing all the fluids
  2. Replace Pads
  3. Install a few misc items, clutch cover drain plug, bottom headlamp assembly
  4. Install LED light bulbs
  5. Eventually look at a winch, not sure I will ever need it, but it just looks really cool!
  6. Tires
  7. Maybe a back seat rest for my daughter who can ride along
Oh boy, I can see how one can get caught up in the accessories on these things! lol

I really would love to pick up one of these lifts, but I feel like it's just something that I'm going to be annoyed by, when it's sitting in my garage while not in use.

Thanks Jumbo!

This weekend's riding will be on our property here in Tampa. Right now, there is no water anywhere! When summer comes, then that is another story. the plug will be here on Monday, so I think I should be ok.

I tried something similar from Harbor Freight. I didn't like it. The first one, I actually bent the tabs, so I took it back. Got a replacement, and it would not go up all the way. It was bulky and not very maneuverable, so I took the 2nd one back today. I just use the scissor jack from my car to get the bike up for the jack stands.

The tires I found on Letgo. Someone put a larger size on their bike, and these were the take offs.
Sold the ones that came on mine for $175, so that worked out pretty nice.
