I have a minor amount of metal shaving on the oil plug when I changed the oil is it normal? There are no smoking or noise issues what so ever, it only has 1300 miles on it just curios thank you.

You can always send a sample of your used oil to Blackstone Labs for testing.

Looks like your magnetic plug is doing its job!.. Better to have those chips on the magnetic than floating in your oil!

Unless the metal shavings were really small I'd be wondering where they came from.

If it has just a tiny amount of very fine stuff accumulated on the magnet its normal wear. If it has larger flakes or more than just a little bit that is easily wiped off then you may be getting some abnormal wear.
How often are you changing it and what type oil are you using?
I change the engine every 50 hours and all other fluids at every other motor oil change or 100 hours.
Some think that's a little excessive but its cheap insurance to me and gives you early warning if you start having a problem BEFORE it becomes a catastrophic failure.

A small amount of metallic “sludge” is normal. Maybe the size of a pea.
