Okay so picked up a 2003 sportsman 500 ho. It ran beautifully pull started but the starter relay was shot. I tried to take it apart and clean it and re install. I arc’d the battery trrribly working my big mits under the fender plastic. Anyhow, nothing worked after reinstall. I bought a polaris starter relay and re wired it in. Even made new holes in battery box for good ground. Now.......nothing. No lights, no winch, no awd, nothing on gauge cluster, nothing from key ignition. Now, if I turn bike to run and put key in start position I can pull start the bike, if I turn key to off position or flip the kill switch it will cut off. Where do I start?

I appreciate your help, really I do. I’m so frustrated I’m about to burn the damn bike. I have a replacement solenoid from polaris dealer. It’s diff looking then factory: it has two terminal ends and one stud for what I assume is the red white wire. I had an extra black wire that went to the old solenoid that I grounded. I know I’m missing something. I cannot find a fusible link anywhere

Which wire does that fusible link off the starter attach to? All black? I’ve only got one stud on the solenoid, I’ve got one wire running off solenoid. I hooked that to the red white wire. I’m missing something

So I have 12.28 volts at battery. I have 12.28 volts where it connects to the winch block on back of bike. Each one of the lines coming off the block, the ground and the two going forward read nothing. Does that matter?

So, I sat outside running resistance on all of the wires that appeared to have some importance. I have the white with red stripe wire hooked to the accessory stud on the solenoid and grounded the second wire that went to the previous starter relay like I thought the videos showed. I then traced that red wire to the front of the bike where it appeared to go into some control box. I figured it can’t be grounded it needs power. So I ran it to one of the posts on the solenoid and wouldn’t you know, gauge light up, bike turned over like a dream, everything works. Thank god.
