Default Starter switch wiring question

I have a 2002 scrambler 500 that had corrosion in the starter on/ off headlight switch , I purchased a new switch from amazon but it does not have the up start on it ? I plugged it in and all works but when I turn on my key ,atv starts and continues cranking while running , how can I make this work ? Can I interrupt a wire with a spring loaded switch coming off this new switch ? I spent $89 for the switch didn’t see the fine print in the description (no up start) dealer wants 249 , if I can simply install a “off the shelf” push button switch by cutting one wire I would like to do that , can anyone help me out that may know about this ?

so your key switch only has 1 position other then off? does it start with the push button on the kill switch or did it have a start position on the key? I can't remember what mine was.

I think I'd just send it back and get the correct switch rather than butcher the starting system. $85 on Partzilla.

The price you quoted from the dealer is ridiculous.
