Hello,

I have a 2009 outlaw 90, just get it, no manual (ordered) and just got it running. Set float, attached black wire on CDI, set throttle slop. Now it starts and idles great without any choke cold. Well 70 degrees.

I do not have e any running lights. The break lights work and there is power for everything else. As in horn, starter, back break light. The nutral green light works.
The orange reverse light also works although I need to wiggle the shifter.

When do the lights come on? With the key?
Is there two lights in the tail light? running and break?

does anyone know where the power comes from fro the running lights (headlight and tail light)

added info:
checked the two wires each front bulb, checked voltage wire to wire, no DC voltage.
checked batter ground to each wire, no dc voltage.

will remove back bulb (tail Light) today and check to see if it has 2 filaments and 2 power wires going to it.

 

got it, the stop light is 12vDC, the running lights are 12V AC, greased up the voltage regulator plug and everything is working.
the tan/red wire for the lights origin is at the regulator. The other black is ground/common.

 

Welcome to the forum. I didn't even know they had headlights. Some kid's quads didn't because the manufacturers thought no one would be riding them at night. I have my headlights on most of the time when I ride in the daytime because it's easier for other people to see me.
