welcome to the forum. is there brake fluid in the hand brake reservoir? if not look for a leak. if so, my guess is that the master cylinder needs rebuilding or replacing. remember that the hand brake controls front and back brakes and you said the rear ones with the foot brake worked.

 

Stendori, long time no see. The 85 model had a cable operated rear brake system, unlike the hydraulic as you are used to.

That being said they were marginal at best( from my experiences) they either didn't work at all, or the locked up when applying them. They HAD to be in gear also. My advise would be take the rear caliper apart and make sume it will move correctly internally.

Sorry to hear about OPT. I remember when he started posting here, about around the same time I was getting my shop going. Sad to hear about him passing.

 

well I'm glad you did stop by glad your shop is doing good. I remember the good help you gave and glad you still around again. I basically set OTP up in the role as "Polaris ask and expert" professional as his knowledge from working on Polaris for 20+ years was unmatched.
