I have a 98 Polaris sportsman 500 that I bought a 2inch hitch receiver for I want to install. Instructions say to remove two top A-Arm bolts, mount hitch receiver and re install bolts back into place. Videos I have watched of newer sportsman models show removing two NUTS, not two bolts. This would be much easier because the bolt would stay in place and everything that is aligned with it stay in place. In my sineraio I need to remove the entire bolt. I've done some work on the front bumper of my machine and had an extremely difficult time getting bolts back into place where I removed them. Seems there is a lot of weight and tension on those and when you remove them everything become unalligned. I spent hours with a friend getting them back in.
Does anyone know what will happen once i remove those two A-arm bolts? I've attached a few photos so you have an idea what I'm talking about. Any advice would be appreciated. Top bolt Nut on back of bolt .
