I just bought a snowmobile yesterday, and know absolutely nothing about them. I bought a used Indy 400. The question at hand is do these thigs not engage the track until high RPM's this one will not spin until 4500, that seems a little high for me, but I don't know. I really have never seen one before I bought this one . Any replies will be greatly appreciated

Your in good shape this normal.My 700 kicks oin at 5000.Alot of things to check on mobile.You need to check carbides(on bottom of ski's)also called wear bars.The slides(hiper fax)that the track rides on,you should check chain case oil.turn machine on side,shut of gas first.get on left side get ahold of handle bars stand on running board,pull hard will tip sideways.You can get to most of grease zirks then.If it has metal ski's think about plastic ski skins they really help.Look at hy-fax to see how worn they are,if they are less than opening of #10 wrench need replaced.If I can clear up things better e-mail at jerrysparks1@home.com I'll be glad to help what I can.
