Default Polaris quad type

Hello, I bought my wife this quad a couple of months ago, I have not been able to ID it or find the VIN. I have look in the front and rear wheel well. the quad is a 400 4 x 4 chain-driven

Can anyone help id model and year? I think it could be a scrabbler or sportmans not sure

Welcome to the forums.

Definitely a Scrambler. If you can get the vin# off the left side frame, the 10th digit is the year code.

I would guess around 1999. Looks like they took off the original graphics and added their own. 99 had white fenders and a red nose piece.

Is the front 4x4 driven by shaft? If so it is likely a 98 or 99. But there should be a VIN stamped into the frame straight under the coolant overflow tank.

1997 was the last year of the front chain drive for the 4x4. So a 1997 or earlier.
