2004 predator 90 x 2 no spark/weak spark
#1
So I have two 2004 Polaris predator 90s with no spark. I changed the CDI ignition and stater on one, on my in-line spark tester shows a spark but very weak. Having the spark plug hooked up to the in-line spark tester there is no spark to either the frame or the cylinder head itself. Started checking with the volt ohm meter found everything to be within spec from the stater. The resistors that are marked at eight ohms are resisting almost nothing 0.004 ohms.
i am an Ironworker not an electrician. I ordered new resistors because the value is not right.
also I have changed the plug twice.
like I said in line shows current but weak, and no spark on the plug.
I understand the general purpose of a resistor, maybe not in this system which is why I ordered new.
I did set the pick up off the stator gap to .006 on my feeler gauge.
Any advise on this issue would help to reduce the amount of gray hair I am producing.
BTW I have been on and around small engines my whole life, always hated electrical problems.
