That looks awesome. Both the bike, and the scenery! Congrats.

First pic is my back yard overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Second is a view about a few kilometers from my place called Murphys Cove. I was hoping to get those pics on a sunny day but they can be few and far away here at times.

Given that, I went back to Can-am and after much discussion with the dealer and the finance department (The wife lol), I settled on the Can-AM Outlander 650Max XT. She a 2up model with a nice passenger seat/backrest included, front and rear bumbers, winch, and upgraderd tires and rims. Very nice bike, very happy with my purchase.
Sounds like the XT package. Very nice. If you do winter riding, you'll use the winch sooner or later. I like the Can-Am Max better than the Polaris Touring mainly because you still have room for a huge storage box on the rear rack when you have a passenger on board. With the Polaris Touring there isn't that much space with the passenger seat mounted.

So back to the two up law. What really makes the touring model any safer than the regular model? I see they are a bit longer, and have footrests and a seat back. Same thing is easily accomplished with a halfway decent bag or lock and ride seat.
Just wondering, I guess.
The difference is that the passenger is sitting either in front of (Can-Am Max) or directly above the rear axle (Polaris Touring). With a single rider machine the passenger sits behind the rear axle and lightens the front end up considerably. This becomes dangerous going up hills especially. And the longer wheelbase tends to give you a smoother ride overall than the shorter. Think about the difference between a Jeep Wrangler and a Wrangler 4 door.
