1992 Polaris Trail Boss 350 4x4

I need help, I have brought the ATV to a mechanic multiple times for the same issue.... It will start run for a minute or two stall and then when trying to restart it, it backfires and wont start. Each time I bring it to him he replaces the spark plug says he drive it around for a couple days with no issues and gives it back to me with a hefty bill. I am not very mechanical but cant afford to keep bring this old machine in just to keep having the same problem. I can do some basic stuff but don't know where to start. Any advice would be appreciated. I would hate to just have to see it especially not running because I wont get any value out of it unless it is running.

first off you would not need to keep changing the spark plug unless you are oil fouling it and even then usually not that quick. check the plug your self and see what it looks like. if its all wet is it from oil. or gas. maybe the carb needs to be removed and cleaned and the float is sticking a little letting too much gas and fouling it. check the plug. sometimes if it has too much gas while trying to start the plug will ignite extra gas and will make it back fire.
