Polaris Trail Boss 330...Help! It won't run!!!
Hello. I am having troubles with my Polaris Trail Boss 330.
Recently, I tried to start it for the first time in several months and it would not start. I cleaned the carb, drained and replaced the fuel, replaced the battery, replaced the spark plug, and it started and ran for about 10 minutes. It didn't run well but it ran. I brought it into the garage, shut it off, and tried to start it again but it would not start. I removed the spark plug and it was black, so I replaced it with a new one. From that point forward the atv will not start. It will turn over and has a good amount of spark, but it will not run...
Any ideas of how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Shane.

you are running way too rich, if you replaced the plug and after 10 minutes it was black.
check to make sure the airfilter is clean, and then try to run the machine with the airbox cover off.(will lean it out, but you are rich anyways. do this to see if that is the problem.

What is the best way to have the atv run leaner?
The air filter isn't clean, actually there was oil in the airbox after it ran for a few minutes. Does that hint toward anything else?
Sorry for my ignorance, I'm used to two strokes...four strokes are a whole new world for me...
To make matters worse...it's out of warranty so I'm on my own with it, unless I want to pay a shop to fix the problem...I don't want to spend the money and I enjoy fixing my bikes and quad's on my own.
Thanks!

how much oil was in the airbox? check the oil level in the motor, if there is too much oil in it, it will blow oil into the airbox from the cam breather hose.
the best way to get the carb set right (rich/lean) is to jet it with a jet kit, like Dyno jet or another company like that.
